Dr. Anand’s patient philosophy centers around treating the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. She believes in a comprehensive evaluation, accurate diagnosis, psychotherapy (talk therapy) coupled with judicious use of psychopharmacology (using psychiatric medications to treat mental disorders). This along with other alternative treatments (such as meditation, yoga, journal, and walking therapy), can bring about transformative changes in the lives of those suffering from depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and other common mental conditions and life issues.
Dr. Anand is an American trained physician specializing in Adult Psychiatry with expertise in psychopharmacologic medication and psychotherapy. She completed her psychiatry residency training at Loyola University in Chicago. During these years, the intense guided training added with the clinical experience she obtained the skills and confidence in understanding, diagnosing, managing and treating various mental health and psychological issues and medication management issues related to the field of Psychiatry. At Loyola, during her residency, she worked with world-renowned Psychiatrist Dr. DoMeena Renshaw receiving extensive hands-on training conducting didactic workshops in Sexual Dysfunction Disorders.
Soon after completing her psychiatry residency training at Loyola Dr. Anand moved to California where she cared for persons with a wide spectrum of mental health issues through working in both public governmental and private sectors. She gained varied experience and specialized in the treatment of mild to moderate, simple to complex, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, neuro-developmental disorders, and a range of mental health conditions related to children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly.
